Subject: New PNW Agroforestry Working Group Coordinator 

Dear Colleagues,

Since my retirement from Oregon State University in June 2021, there was no one, rise to take over the responsibilities to lead and coordinate the activities of the PNW Agroforestry Working Group.  However, with limited times I had, I was involved in some Agroforestry outreach and development work in the region. To mention a few, the establishment of the Indigenous Agroforestry Partners Network led by Ecotrust and funded by the USDA-NIFA, and I was also involved in a project to  publish a Handbook and develop short videos for Agroforestry in the Northwest led by the Center for Rural Livelihoods in Eugene, funded by USDA, SARE grant. After four years of waiting, I had the opportunity to discussion the importance of agroforestry to the PNW region with Professor, Holly Ober, and Associate Dean for Science Outreach and Program Leader for FNR Extension, College of Forestry. She understood the importance of agroforestry to our region and also considering the expressed interest of Dr. Kidane Giday, Associate Professor of Forestry (Practice), and Extension Forester, she allocated a limited FTE for Dr. Kidane to coordinate the activities of the PNW Agroforestry Working. He will engage in managing the Working Group website and organizing quarterly meetings, seminars, etc. 

It is a great pleasure for me to introduce to you Dr. Kidane Giday as our next PNW Agroforestry Working Group Coordinator. Please join me in welcoming Dr. Kidane to the PNW Agroforestry Working Group.
